We needed a condition report, and then some work to get the property up to satisfactory standard along with some minor improvements (eg new light fittings, extra sockets). They managed to fit us in quickly, and were really efficient while they were here. Matthew, James and Taylor did the work with no mess, no fuss and afterwards you wouldn't know they had been in. When I did spot something, it was sorted within a day. I would certainly recommend them, and will contact them myself as a first resort for future work.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an RCBO?
An RCBO is a protective device. Much like an RCD. The difference being a RCBO protects each individual circuit whereas the RCD will protect numerous circuits. The benefits of this are if there is a fault on a certain circuit only that circuit will trip (lose power). With an RCD all the circuits it’s protecting will lose power.
How much does it cost to replace a consumer unit / fuse board?
As a company we charge a flat rate of £500 for a new consumer unit. This is for your average domestic household and a dual RCD split way board with 10 circuits tested and certified. When upgrading an old consumer unit you may come across faults that the old fuse board didn’t recognise. The flat fee is for a day rate and we would try find the issue (if it occurred) within that day.
RCBO vs RCD, what's the difference?
An RCD is a protective device that will protect a number of circuits, normally at least 5. If it picks up a fault on any of these circuits it will trip cutting the power to every circuit it is protecting. An RCBO is basically exactly the same as an RCD however it protects 1 individual circuit. If there is any problems then just that 1 circuit will loose power.
